Wasp vs. Frolic

C. Scott Johnson and his brother, Walt, sent this image of a painting of the second Wasp capturing HMB Frolic. The painting is part of a collection at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. The museum's URL states:

0053 "U.S.S. Wasp Boarding H.M. Brig Frolic"

Oil, 27x53 in.; attributed to Thomas Birch (1779-1851), ca. 1815

"This painting is said to once have been the property of Captain James Biddle, U.S.N, Lieutenant of the U.S.S. Wasp"

From the collections of the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA

The second Wasp is the ship on the left; you may be able to make out the U.S. flag flying in the sails, midship. The Folic, then, is on the right. You can see the British flag more clearly. You may also notice the boarding party. I reduced the size of the image so that it can be seen in its entirety within the frame of most browsers. The Peabody Essex Museum provides a larger version online where the details can be seen more clearly.
