Shipmate Gene Dougherty lent me his cruise book and tucked away in some of the pages, I found a few little treasures to share with you. When I mentioned them to Gene and told him I might start a museum page, he laughed, and then he sent me his 1954 Wasp Thanksgiving menu and Christmas card.
Some of us are just natural "pack rats, " slipping essentially useless stuff into envelopes and boxes, and filling our closets, basements, and garages. We don't really expect to find much use for this stuff, but just in case .... Now we can all enjoy Gene's little treasures.

Shipmate Gerald Perna contributed this unique patch with the following note:
"I had this patch (which was drawn by a member of V-7 division in 1953) on a jacket I had especially made in Yokosuka on the 1954-1955 cruise. The patch says Task Force 70.2. I guess the guy who designed it didn't know we were a Task Unit."
